the majority of us know what adobe illustrator is. thats the world-leading tool of choice among graphic designers. adobe illustrator has been around for nearly 30 years as a design tool. along with some of the best feature set, illustrator also offers great international support, and is an excellent and relatively stable tool. however, these days, many illustrators are starting to explore new tools. corel draw graphics suite 2019 for mac offers a similar feature set to that of illustrator with a brand new, simplified and accessible interface that even the novice can master in a matter of days. coreldraw graphics suite 2019 for the mac is a relatively new vector drawing app, but its growth in popularity has been phenomenal.

the vector editing tools are wonderful; just ask any illustrator about the pain in the butt that illustrator is. i could go on at length about illustrators limitations, but i will just point out that coreldraw has absolutely none of those. the tools have been built specifically around professional use, and they are exceptionally powerful, producing amazing vector artwork for practically any purpose. but all that power comes at a price; many of the options are hidden behind multiple menus. its good that theyve added the ability to customize settings from the defaults, but it feels like the version has been rushed; the file is a bit rough around the edges, and coreldraw doesnt appear to be quite finished.
although it offers excellent tools for almost any vector task, its lacking in the typography department; it would have been nice to have a tool like adobe indesign or even adobe indesign present, so that i could display a couple text pages in a layout without hunting for and importing those files as pdfs.
