2.1: If you have assigned a material from the Lumion Material Library to a surface and you want to transfer the material to a different surface, please click on the Menu button at the top of the Material Editor panel:

2.2: Use the Copy, Paste functions to transfer the material to a different surface in the same Scene.Use the Save and Load functions to transfer the material to a different surface in the current Scene, or to a different Imported Model in another Scene.

3.1: If you have assigned a material from the Lumion Material Library to a surface and you want to copy or paste the Extended settings of the material, please click on the Menu button at the top of the Extended settings panel:

3.2: The Copy and Paste options will let you copy the Extended settings of the current tab, for example the Position or Foliage tab from one material to another material that has the same type of settings. For example: from a Standard Material to a Nature Material from the Lumion Material Library, but not from a Standard Material to a Glass Material.

When you import a Revit file, you need to convert the materials to Lumion material. This is a typical process for most standalone rendering software. When you exported, the textures(images) would be created in a separate folder. You can use the texture, you can use textures in your project folder, or you can rely on Lumion preset texture.

By default, the Autodesk Material Library is not installed when you install Autodesk InfraWorks. This can occasionally cause issues with the display of textures and materials for 3D objects that you import to or export from Autodesk InfraWorks.

Without the required material libraries installed, 3D objects that were created in other Autodesk products such as Autodesk Revit or Autodesk Civil 3D may display inaccurately in your InfraWorks models.

The Autodesk Material Library consists of several shared sub-libraries of materials and textures that are installed with some Autodesk products such as Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit and 3ds Max. For those products, the Autodesk Material Library is installed by default using the product installer; it can be removed using the Windows Control Panel.

Greetings everyone. I've got a problem that seems to be happening now with Revit 2021. Not sure when it started or what I may have done to cause it, but it seems to be connected to my material library in some way.

When opening the Materials manager, most material texture icons will not load, or take a very long time to do so, and my computer's CPU goes into overdrive for some reason. Not sure if this is a missing paths situation, or if it's a missing library materials- though I do seem to have all the RVT 2021 material libraries and textures in my C drive in the proper location.

I have the same issue. My computer runs so hard revit crashes sometimes. right when I select material browser, BOOM the fans kick on and start whistling its a major problem and I want to know who isnt having thw problem.

If you are seeing these symptoms (slow performance when working in Materials dialog with Revit 2021.1.3 or later), see the following article (on a different issue, that causes similar behavior): Slowly refreshing material thumbnails while opening the material browser in Revit 2021.1.3 or later

Regarding the change in material appearance: This only affects the preview of the material in the material dialog. This does not change the appearance of materials within the model. I've added a note to the article to clarify this point.

This is beyond frustrating. I'm sure I'm not the only one that can spend a majority of a day doing what could be an hours work due to slow loading of material assets, throw in a crash or two ( always save before editing materials!)

Lumion: A Visualization tool that allows real-time rendering from an exported Revit Model and contains an extensive RPC library. This software was designed to handle large models and utilize a foolproof interface for rapid rendering applications.

Enscape: Currently the only "LIVE" rendering solution directly within Revit. Enscape uses all RPC content and materials within Revit and applies enhanced live rendered lighting and reflections for Design project review.
