Yesterday there was a post from a guy who was playing Extreme Warfare Revenge (I accidentaly but Extreme rampage first time around) (A wrestling booking simulator, where you can hire wrestlers, book shows, buy companies etc)

It's Valentines day! We all know what that means! Time to through on our wrestling gear, jump in the ring and get our dating on! Wrestling with Emotions is the perfect game for those wanting to spread some love and maybe some punches!

I love wrestling, and I love games! Happy to throw a couple dollars at this, if only to show that wrestling fans appreciate people making silly fun games using wrestling. I hope you guys make more cool stuff!

This game is a blast! The character creation at the beginning--combined with the dialogue throughout the sim--appeals to the wrestling fan's heart. Props to Team Lazerbeam for such mad creativity...this game is ridiculously lovable!

Haha! We're totally on the same page! Still need to figure out the details, but the idea is that after making 7 matches you get to participate is an 8 man free for all; The Romance Rumble!Debuted the first 3 new wrestlers at a festival this past weekend; we're super stoked!

Spike Chunsoft also announced that the wrestling simulator will be headed not only to PlayStation 4 ($799.95 at Amazon)(Opens in a new window) , but also to the PC, courtesy of Steam. Though Japanese publishers have a newfound commitment to the personal computer, Fire Pro's rich console and portable legacy made that portion of Spike Chunsoft's reveal truly surprising.

These tenets expanded with the release of Fire Pro Wrestling D, the series' 2001 Sega Dreamcast offering. That entry gave Fire Pro fans a glimpse of what a Fire Pro Wrestling game could look like on an internet-connected PC, as it leveraged the console's online capabilities to let wrasslin fans download new moves (free of charge from the developer!) and user-created character packs.

I fondly remember nabbing ECW rosters from dedicated creators who blessed the fan base with dozens of custom grapplers, as well as user-created ring logos. It was the equivalent of receiving free DLC every few days, and it was an absolutely grand experience.

I'm eager to see the potential graphics mods that the Fire Pro maniacs whip up. Though Fire Pro Wrestling World's high-resolution 2D sprites appear quite serviceable, and adhere to the series' simple visual tradition, I would love for a few intrepid souls to overhaul the visuals. New boots, tight, trunks, singlets, masks, and other wrestling gear would be welcome, too.

In 1998, World Championship Wrestling was THE hottest professional wrestling company in the world. It had the number one show on cable with WCW Monday Nitro and an average of 5 million viewers on a weekly basis. Along with great television, WCW and THQ brought their best to the Nintendo 64 console with WCW/nWo Revenge. While previous wrestling games on consoles had more of an arcade fighter vibe, Revenge was out to show the world what a pro wrestling simulator looked like. Not only would you be able to fight with an expanded roster, but you would also have access to fully rendered recreations of both their arena sets from television and their pay-per-view events.

Revenge took wrestling games to new heights, but No Mercy set an even higher bar that all wrestling games afterward attempted to reach. For years, whenever a pro wrestling video game debuted onto new consoles, No Mercy was the game that was its litmus test. Why is this game so revered? Mainly because it brought simplicity to the table without insulting its audience.

Can we get a wins/losses/championships held info on the player cards. One of the most exciting games things for me in management games is the ability to view stats and achievements. A chance to really build the resume. Also are we competing against the other wrestling brand, if so where do we view our competition with it?

This ain't an issue for me as its still considered a new game that can still go for full price and getting it through PS plus which is peanuts compared to paying full price. I mean how different are the two versions really. Probably a tiny bit smoother looking on the eye compared to the PS4 version which probably requires you to put your eyeballs super close to the tv to see a difference. I doubt having a bit more smoother fps will make much of a difference in a wrestling scrap and having slower load times is such a tiny nuisance given the game is almost free in comparison to buying it normally

WWE 2K20 presents itself as a wrestling simulation and a celebration of all things WWE. It features a stacked roster of current superstars and well as a smattering of legends (many of which are locked behind a paywall). Much like the real-life roster, the level of talent on display is impossible to deny. Loads of match types are available, as well as a lengthy MyCareer mode, the return of the 2K Showcase mode, and an all-new 2K Originals mode.

MyCareer is a solid representation of what WWE 2K20 has to offer. As a way to play through a WWE career, it misses the mark more than any career mode in any game that has come before it. The story it does offer is so goddamn stupid that it comes around to being endearing. You play as a pair of friends that make a pact to follow their wrestling dreams after getting beat up in high school. Both the male and female characters are full-blown idiots, though their stupidity manages to take the story some chuckle-inducing places.

The mechanics for kick-outs and submissions are dreadful holdovers from previous games. They were created in response to fan feedback against simple button mashing, but the end result is worse than button mashing and the mechanics themselves are nearly impossible for casual players to work with. If you mistime a button tap during the kick out circle, you can lose a match in 5 seconds, even if your wrestler never took a hit. The slant towards offering a simulation also makes WWE 2K20 unappealing to casual players or fans of the arcade and AKI-produced wrestling classics of yesteryear.

I had a rough time when reviewing Madden NFL 20 earlier this year because the game was another retread license cash-in from a publisher that clearly had no respect for its players. While it was a lazy dumpster fire, at least it was largely playable across its modes. The same cannot be said of WWE 2K20. 2K Games and Take Two should be embarrassed that this game was released in this condition. For more than twenty years, wrestling game fans have been begging publishers to offer an updated take on the AKI-produced wrestling game classics like WCW vs NWO: Revenge and WWF: No Mercy. Instead, the fans are expected to fawn over this dreck. 041b061a72
