Terence plays with his cell phone as he wanders around the airport. The boy is not allowed to make any calls, only a few have been set up. Terence does get some calls and they are from the principal's assistant. No one seems to have the authority to do much in the situation. The principal is now on the FBI's side, but the FBI agent is unwilling to negotiate or trust him. The principal tries to keep the boy alive and keep him from going to the FBI. Terence gets the idea to bring in a hostage negotiator. They convince the principal to take the boy to the airport and wait. The negotiator will be doing a quick call to get the principals's prior approval to allow him to negotiate for his life.
Picking Danny Romeo. Danny's got a sense of humor, he plays games, he's tough and he's fun to be around. He and his assistant Maggie, are there to help the principal and the kid. Danny is skeptical that the FBI agent can be trusted, but the principal convinces him. Danny has been called in so he will be part of the decision process as to whether he is to be negotiated for his life. But the principal is a good negotiator, Danny and Maggie have to negotiate with their own forces. Danny and Maggie try to find the principals's motivation. Who is he holding the boy for. Why.
